Flash attachment error

Post by kellory »

When I upload a flash that's like 3 mb big, I can upload it and post the topic. But then when I try to view the topic, I get the error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Other users can't view the topic as well. I have to delete the file from the server to access the topic and delete the post. Is there a way I can view big flash files without getting the "cannot display" error? Please help me

Link?

To tell you the truth this sounds like it might be a server configuration issue. Page is probably trying to load but times out before it's displayed (due to the large filesize).

Even if it's over 1 mb it won't display it :( But now it doesn't give the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage error" but displays the header, just doesn't show the topic section. The link is here: http://www.cityarel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30

You can see that it's working with small files here: http://www.cityarel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12

Try this...though I'm unsure it'll help you but anything you can try would be good at this point:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]---------------------------------------------
#
templates/subSilver/viewtopic_attach_body.tpl

#
#-----[ FIND ]---------------------------------------------
#
swflash.cab#version=5,0,0,0

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]---------------------------------------------
#
swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0

#
#-----[ FIND ]---------------------------------------------
#
download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash"

#
#-----[ IN-LINE, FIND ]---------------------------------------------
#
download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash"

#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]---------------------------------------------
#
menu="false
Hope that helps...

It didn't work :( same error. What it did though, it disabled replies for topics that did work. I reverted it. Any other options?

Interesting flash

If you're not storing your files on an external host then DON'T use the FTP setting. Turn that off and try again to see if that fixes your issue. That would be a bug that won't get fixed though if it does fix it :?

I made it normal, but still doesn't work! Can you tell me your properties for upload folder (like 666, 777)? I'm using 777 right now.
